Chronicle of An Unquiet Age

America in Free Fall 2022

America In Free Fall 2022 captures a year marked by instability, economic pressure, and intensifying political division. Inflation surged to levels not seen in decades, driving up the cost of living and reshaping everyday life, while aggressive interest rate hikes signaled a tightening economy and growing uncertainty about the future. Markets fluctuated, supply chain issues persisted, and confidence in long-term stability appeared increasingly fragile.

Domestically, the political climate remained highly charged, with the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade igniting nationwide debate, protests, and legislative responses. The midterm elections further underscored deep polarization, as competing narratives about governance, policy, and national direction dominated public discourse.

Globally, the war in Ukraine continued to escalate following Russia’s invasion, drawing international attention and reshaping alliances, energy policy, and security concerns. Each painting reflects these developments as they unfolded—capturing a sense of acceleration, tension, and imbalance. America In Free Fall 2022 documents a year when economic strain, political conflict, and global instability converged, leaving the direction of the country uncertain and the stakes increasingly high.
