The title These Strange Times comes from a song written by Mick Fleetwood and my friend Ray Kennedy and recorded by Fleetwood Mac in 1995 for the album Time. It seems perfectly suited to the times we are living through today.These Strange Times captures another extraordinary two weeks of political, social, and geopolitical upheaval.
President Trump announced claims of election fraud and questioning the integrity of the 2020 election.
Trump says China hacked 220 million American's voter data and fabricated fake ID's to register voters. President Xi fires back denying the involvement calling Trump's comments "pure fabrications and malicious smears." Mainstream media including ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN refuse to cover Trump's address to the nation in real time. If they won't air the President Live... ask yourself... WHY? Let the people watch... Let the people decide.
Questions surrounding the intelligence community including CIA's Gina Haspel and FBI's Christopher Wray running a "Shadow Government" against Trump in his first term adding another layer to an already volatile political landscape.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani remained at the center of national controversy over his positions on arresting Netanyahu for war crimes if he comes to NYC in September. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called for an investigation into Mamdani following allegations involving his wanting to meet with Iran, and his ties to Hamas and pushing terrorist propaganda. The Democratic Party continues to wrestle with its own increasingly visible divisions. DSA Democrat Socialists and the inclusion of Islam into the party are leading moderate Democrats to question where the party is headed. 153 Muslims ran in the midterms as DSA candidates. 83 have secured victories in 25 states. This is how Sharia Law infiltrates the system.
Pope Leo is now being refered to online as "Dope Leo" as he continues to insist that Christians and Muslims can be friends.. . and coexist, when the Quran clearly states the opposite view.
The world eyes more Socialism on the rise as the UK welcomes a new Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
After speaking with President Trump, Burnham agrees to allow the U.S. to use the airspace to which Iran threatened to hit British bases. Pickaxe Mountain is also in the headlines as it is believed Iran is storing it's nuclear centrifuges underground. Trump warns Iran Pickaxe is on our radar and we will hit it hard if necessary.
And then there is Jimothy the Raccoon. The Seattle native has taken the internet by storm. His antics are now watched by millions and Jimothy has won their hearts. Suffering from a congenital deformity of the spine the little critter seems to be in good health and thriving. Apparently these really are These Strange Times.
The Chronicle records these moments as they happen—not after the dust has settled, but while the story is still unfolding, contradictory, messy, consequential, and occasionally downright absurd.
