Plan-demic
Every painting in Chronicle of an Unquiet Age documents the defining events, people, and issues that shaped its moment in history. Created in real time as events unfolded, each work serves as both an original oil painting and a historical record, reflecting the belief that the news of today is the history of tomorrow.

TRTA-2020-005 | March 2020 | Oil on Canvas | 35" x 26"
The fifth work in the Vision 2020 series explores the confusion, controversy, and competing narratives that surrounded the global spread of COVID-19. As fear grew and daily life was disrupted, public debate intensified over government responses, media coverage, and the origins of the crisis.
Masks, headlines, political figures, warning symbols, and handwritten phrases move across the composition, reflecting a world overwhelmed by information and uncertainty. References to lockdowns, mandates, and public distrust suggest how the health emergency quickly became a political and cultural battle as well.
Created in real time, the painting preserves the tense atmosphere of early 2020, when anxiety and skepticism existed side by side. As a historical time capsule, it records how one global event reshaped public life, politics, and personal behavior almost overnight.
