Make Deals Not War
Every painting in Chronicle of an Unquiet Age documents the defining events, people, and issues that shaped its moment in history. Created in real time as events unfolded, each work serves as both an original oil painting and a historical record, reflecting the belief that the news of today is the history of tomorrow.

TRTA-2025-110 | June 2025 | Oil on Canvas | 32" x 26"
June 2025 brought renewed focus to diplomacy in an increasingly unstable world. Make Deals Not War captures a period when practical bargaining was presented as an alternative to endless confrontation. Trump's first 100 days and Trump meets in Riyad, Saudi Arabia with Prince bin Salman making a deal for $600 billion in investments to the U.S. Definitely proving to be the "Deal Maker in Chief." Prince Salman pledges another $1 Trillion in the second round. Trump then travels to Qatar where he signs a $1.2 Trillion deal and Qater gifts the U.S. a new $4oo million Boeing 747 called the "Flying Palace" to replace 35 yar old Air Force One causing controversy per usual. The Papal Concave convenes and selects Pope Leo the "First American Pope."Trump suggests we reopen Alcatraz to house the "Worst of the Worst." Mike Walz out as National Security Advisor and nominated as Ambassador to the U.N. Judge Janine Pirro is picked as U.S. Attorney for DC. Diddy's Trial begins and celebrities are very nervous. Leticia James gets a grand Jury subpoena for mortage fraud case and the Impeachment push of Trump by "Beagle Killer" Dem Rep. Thanedar fails again. Make Deals Not War reworks a familiar protest phrase through the language of transaction and statecraft. The painting preserves a moment when many citizens preferred agreements, leverage, and strategic restraint over another cycle of open conflict.
