Hold On I'm Comin' On November 15, 2022 Donald Trump the 45th President of the United States announces he will run in 2024 to be the 47th President. In his speech he stated " I am, tonight announcing my candidacy for the Presidency of the United States." "It's time to start talking about greatness again." There is a growing field of contenders for 2024 including Pompeo, Haley, Desantis, Christi and probably more as we get closer to 2024. Who will have the political capital to challenge Trump? After taking the House Jim Jordan and James Comer announce they will be investigating the international business dealings of the Biden Family and whether these activities compromise national security and Biden's ability to lead with impartiality. Three days after Trump announces his candidacy and Comer and Jordan announce their plans, Merrick Garland picks Jack Smith to investigate Trump regarding January 6th and Mar-A-Lago raid.
Elon Musk reinstates Trump's Twitter account and Dems heads are exploding again! Titled Hold on I’m Comin’, this work captures the political aftermath of the 2022 midterm elections and the immediate launch of the 2024 presidential race. The announcement came as Republicans underperformed expectations in the midterms, creating debate over the party’s future direction and leadership. The composition features Donald Trump at center, alongside Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Elon Musk, Kevin McCarthy, Andy Biggs, Jim Jordan, James Comer, and Special Counsel Jack Smith. References to Republican House investigations into the Biden family, internal GOP leadership battles, Twitter’s new ownership under Musk, and questions over Trump’s legal exposure reflect the turbulent atmosphere surrounding the announcement. The title draws from the sense of political return and renewed confrontation as Trump reenters the national stage. The painting records a November moment when one election had just ended and the next had already begun.
