Fight for the Vote
Every painting in Chronicle of an Unquiet Age documents the defining events, people, and issues that shaped its moment in history. Created in real time as events unfolded, each work serves as both an original oil painting and a historical record, reflecting the belief that the news of today is the history of tomorrow.

The nineteenth work in the Vision 2020 series captures the fierce struggle that followed the 2020 election as ballots continued to be counted and legal challenges emerged across several states. What began as Election Day quickly extended into a prolonged national drama over procedure, legitimacy, and public trust.
Sydney Powell, Lin Wood and Rudy Guiliani are featured and would remain in the news as they fought to uncover if there was manipulation and voter fraud that occurred. This painting's composition reads like nonstop news coverage, reflecting disputes over mail-in voting, recounts, deadlines, and accusations from both sides. The imagery suggests a nation consumed by uncertainty while awaiting final results.
This painting preserves the atmosphere of tension, frustration, and anticipation that marked the post-election period. As a snapshot in time, it records how the right to vote, and confidence in the process itself, became one of the central battles of 2020.
