Biden's World of Chaos

Every painting in Chronicle of an Unquiet Age documents the defining events, people, and issues that shaped its moment in history. Created in real time as events unfolded, each work serves as both an original oil painting and a historical record, reflecting the belief that the news of today is the history of tomorrow.

TRTA-2022-038 | February 2022 | Oil on Canvas | 34" x 26"

Titled Biden’s World of Chaos, this early work from America in Free Fall  2022 captures a moment when growing domestic frustration and rising international instability were converging at the start of 2022.

The dominos are beginning to fall for Biden as his second year in office begins and the world is in crumbling.

Painted in real time, the composition reflects a public mood shaped by inflation, supply chain breakdowns, political division, questions surrounding leadership, and mounting concern over global tensions. There is chaos everywhere... the Border, the gas pump, grocery stores, crime, schools, and Russia, Ukraine and China. The Olympics begin in Beijing and Biden Harris have ushered in a sense of uncertainty, insecurity and turmoil. UK's Boris Johnson announces he's done with masks and mandates and other countries are following suit.  Were we decieved by Covid 19? Many believe so. Putin is moving military towards Belarus and Ukraine. Will Biden help hand Ukraine to Putin like he did in Afghanistan?

Russia and Ukraine, China, shifting alliances, and warnings of geopolitical conflict appear alongside domestic themes including economic anxiety, border debates, pandemic fatigue, media distrust, and declining confidence in institutions. The painting presents these parallel crises as interconnected pressures unfolding simultaneously. The title points beyond any single controversy to a broader atmosphere of disorder, frustration, and uncertainty. As a visual time capsule, Biden’s World of Chaos preserves the tension of February 2022, when anxiety, distrust, and global instability were rapidly reshaping the political landscape.
