Aftermath of January 6
Every painting in Chronicle of an Unquiet Age documents the defining events, people, and issues that shaped its moment in history. Created in real time as events unfolded, each work serves as both an original oil painting and a historical record, reflecting the belief that the news of today is the history of tomorrow.

TRTA-2020-022 | January 2021 | Oil on Canvas | 34" x 26"
Aftermath of January 6 in the Vision 2020 series examines how the nation responded to the Capitol breach and the political consequences rapidly unfolded. Calls for accountability, security crackdowns, resignations, censorship debates, and a second impeachment effort quickly reshaped the national conversation. Headlines, political symbols, logos of Facebook, Twitter and terms like "censorship" reflect a country struggling to process shock, anger, fear, and uncertainty. Trump is banned from Twitter and references to Nancy Pelosi and her stolen laptop in the breach, investigations, technology bans, public statements, and institutional response reveal how the crisis extended far beyond a single day.
This painting preserves the tense atmosphere of those following weeks, when questions of responsibility, free speech, public safety, and national healing collided. It records how one dramatic event continued to reverberate through American political life.
