Impeachment 2.0

Created in real time as events unfolded, each work serves as both an original oil painting and a historical record, reflecting the belief that the news of today is the history of tomorrow.

The twenty-fourth work in the Vision 2020 series captures the second impeachment of President Donald Trump, initiated in the wake of the January 6 Capitol breach. Coming only days before the end of his term, the proceedings created another historic and deeply divisive constitutional confrontation. Senator Leahy presided and the Impeachment charge was "Incitement of Insurrection" over the January 6th event at the Capitol.
The composition reads like breaking news coverage, reflecting accusations of incitement, arguments over accountability, and debate over the limits of presidential power. Managers James Raskin and Eric Swalwell are lead Democrats with Michael Van Der and David Schoen defending Trump. References to congressional votes and partisan reaction reveal how the process quickly became both legal action and political reckoning.
This painting preserves the atmosphere of urgency, anger, and institutional conflict that defined those final days of the administration. It records an unprecedented moment when impeachment again became central to the American political story. Will Trump finally be impeached? We shall see...
